  • Kate Harris, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Supportive and Palliative Care Program and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Gynecologic Oncology. She is originally from Seattle, WA and received her medical degree from the University of Washington. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of California San Francisco and her gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan. She was a gynecologic oncologist at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for five years and then completed fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Utah. She is a board certified Gynecologic Oncologist.

    Dr. Harris is also the founder and director of the Rural, Global and Underserved Women’s Health program for the Dept. of Ob-gyn and the Women’s Health Equity Fellowship Director. She has the honor of collaborating with her amazing colleagues in Rwanda and on the Navajo Nation to train physicians in clinical, research, advocacy and leadership skills in low resource settings.

    Dr. Harris is committed to supporting patients with serious illnesses and their families in living their best possible quality of life. Her extensive oncology experience, coupled with additional training in palliative medicine, equips her with a unique skill set for pain and symptom management, holistic patient care, and compassionate bedside manner.
