Take Care of Your Baby in the Winter

Winter can be a challenging season for a new baby. Colder temperatures and reduced sunlight can interrupt a child鈥檚 routine. Here are a few tips to keep your little one healthy this winter.

  1. Vaccinate Your Baby. Influenza can be dangerous, and the flu vaccine is your best defense.
  2. No Smoking. Second-hand smoke can greatly compromise a child鈥檚 breathing and immune system.
  3. Dress Baby in Warm Clothes. Protect their young skin against the cold. Make sure they have a hat and mittens, since these areas of the body can get cold quickly.
  4. Breastfeed. Brest milk helps babies stay healthy and improves their immunity.
  5. Hydrate. Make sure your baby drinks plenty of breast milk, formula, or water.
  6. Let Them Play. Sure, there are lots of germs out there, but babies need to play and socialize with other humans.
