The G. Mitchell Morris Cancer Learning Center

Two women in the Cancer Learning Center library

The G. Mitchell Morris Cancer Learning Center (CLC) is one of the many valuable resources available at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). They offer cancer-related education on a large variety of topics. But what does that mean to you as a physician?

It means that you have a specialized resource for your patients when they have questions or concerns about cancer, family history, screenings, prevention, and more. The CLC is also available to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.

The staff at the CLC are all trained cancer information specialists. They have degrees in health education, public health, nursing, or another related field. They do not provide medical advice. Their sole purpose is education.

Our educators stay up-to-date on all recommended cancer screenings based on age, family history, and risk factors. They are also on top of the latest trends in health care, nutrition, homeopathic remedies, etc. and are able to dispel any myths surrounding cancer prevention and treatment.

The CLC is a free resource available to anyone, anywhere. A person does not have to be a patient at HCI to utilize the CLC鈥檚 services. Information can be sent electronically or mailed anywhere in the world.

Additionally, HCI maintains an extensive online library of for health care providers, patients, and caregivers. It contains printable fact sheets about different types of cancer, treatments and services and well being. All of the fact sheets have been developed and reviewed by a panel of experts including physicians, nurses, and health educators.
