Physician website has ranked the ophthalmology residency program at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah among the nation’s top 10 for a second year running.

The placed Moran at No. 9 nationwide and No. 2 in the West. The website surveys physician opinions annually to determine its reputation-based rankings, used by medical school graduates evaluating high-quality training programs.

"We are grateful for this recognition of our ability to provide an exceptional education," said ²Ñ´Ç°ù²¹²Ô’s Vice Chair of Education Jeff Pettey, MD. "Moran is known for true expertise in taking care of its community. Residents and fellows participate in that care throughout their time here. When they leave, I am confident they are exceptionally prepared—with clinical and surgical training, and a host of other skills— to enter the complex landscape of health care today."

²Ñ´Ç°ù²¹²Ô’s selects four residency applicants from a pool of more than 500 annually. Residents consistently perform more surgeries than the national average and enjoy protected research time. They can also participate in an international humanitarian rotation, and customize their education with elective time.
