Training the Next Generation of Rehabilitation Leaders

The Department of PM&R at University of Utah has many excellent training programs for the next generation of rehabilitation specialists. This includes a well-rounded with clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. We provide residents with exceptional clinical experience in a broad range of injuries and disabilities. Our unique training covers the full spectrum of rehabilitation medicine, such as spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and more. 

We also offer fellowship training programs in the following specialties:

Honoring Craig H. Neilsen's Legacy

Craig H. Neilsen (1941-2006) sustained a severe spinal cord injury in 1985. He was a prominent real estate developer who founded the casino gaming company, Ameristar Casions, Inc. As a result of his life-altering injury, he created a private foundation in 2002 to support programs and scientific research dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with spinal cord injuries. 

In November 2017, the Foundation generously donated $47.5 million toward a new rehabilitation hospital at 91麻豆天美直播. After decades of dreaming, U of U Health opened Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital in May 2020.

The legacy of Neilsen鈥檚 passion and dedication, together with U of U Health鈥檚 patient and family-centered focus, has resulted in a seamless and unique experience.
