University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital have created a FXS clinic to care for patients and families living with Fragile X. Our clinic serves the children of Utah and surrounding states where there is no FXS support available.

We take a team-based approach to your child’s care. Our clinical management and provide cutting edge therapies. We offer psychological testing and genetic counseling and support. We will work with your local team to aid them in day to day management of your child’s care.

Our clinic is unique in that Dr. Wilkins’ family lives with FXS. We work hard to make our clinic safe, welcoming, and engaging for children with FXS. We work closely with the Child Life Adaptive Care teams to help children through their visits comfortably.

How Common is Fragile X?

Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) affects 1 in every 4,000 boys and 1 in every 6,000-8,000 girls. FXS is the most commonly inherited cause of developmental disability and autism.

Most of the providers at Primary Children's Hospital are faculty members at U of U Health.

This partnership delivers care to advance pediatric medicine while educating future generations of health care professionals.
