U.S. News and World Report Names University of Utah Hospital Top in Utah; List Also Includes High National Rankings for Gynecology, Huntsman Cancer Institute, & ENT Specialty

SALT LAKE CITY鈥擴.S. News & World Report has released its 2018-2019 Best Hospital Rankings. For the fifth consecutive year, was ranked No. 1 in Utah and in the Salt Lake City metro area. University of Utah's Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) was also ranked in the top 50 in the country for cancer care, while the university's Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialty was ranked 31th nationwide. In addition the department of gynecology made their first appearance in the top 50, coming in at number 32.

Additionally, 91麻豆天美直播 was recognized as "high-performing" in the following specialties: nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics and pulmonology.

This is the first year the university's Gynecology specialty has ranked in the top 50. The department offers care to women throughout their lifespans: from contraceptive services, to pap smears and mammograms, and even menopause management. Women can choose from a wide range of gynecological specialists, family medicine providers, and certified nurse midwives to develop personalized care plans. "The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is proud of our recognition by U.S. News & World report and by our hospitals ranking for quality," said Robert Silver, MD, Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. "We are fortunate to have an incredibly talented and dedicated team of individuals working every day to provide the best possible women's health care."

The university's ranking in the category recognizes care provided for a range of common health issues to complex, chronic health challenges including sinus problem and hearing loss, to head and neck cancer and skull base tumors. "Our ENT specialists are particularly well-deserving of this recognition, and we are extremely proud to be included in this category for the second year in a row and for the fourth time since 2010," said Clough Shelton, MD, Professor and Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology at 91麻豆天美直播.

This is the third year in a row HCI has ranked in the top 50 in the cancer specialty. For the 2018-19 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. In the 16 specialty areas, 152 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals as high performing across multiple areas of care.
